Do you seek advice on a 'direct access basis' without a solicitor?
Direct briefing occurs when a barrister accepts work ('instructions' or 'a brief') from a person who is not a solicitor. For further information on direct access briefing, see - https://www.qldbar.asn.au/index.php/instructing-a-barrister2/how-to-brief-a-barrister/direct-briefing-for-in-house-counsel
As I am a barrister, it is usual practice for you to engage a solicitor first, as I do not take matters on a direct access basis (namely without a solicitor). If you have a solicitor on the record, I would be more than happy to offer my assistance to you. Please get them to contact me as soon as possible.
If you do not have a solicitor and do not intend to engage one, you can appear as a 'self represented litigant' in court. There are currently many self represented litigants before the courts - often due to lack of resources. It is usual that the court will accommodate you as best they can if you continue to appear on that basis.
Perhaps the best course forward is for you to call upon legal aid for further assistance - http://www.legalaid.qld.gov.au/Pages/Home.aspx
There are also a number of pro bono (free) community based legal services which I recommend you call upon for further assistance -
A helpful resource setting out such services can be found at - http://www.qcat.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0010/159706/legal-advice.pdf
